At the Warehouse
Volunteers are needed all year round at our book warehouse in Mitchell. If you have an interest in or love for books of any genre, this could be a great volunteer opportunity for you!
Roles include sorting, pricing and packing books and other materials such as CDs and DVDs, computer-based searches for our genealogy team and online store, and a variety of logistics and support tasks including taking donations.
Please note a current WWVP registration is a requirement for all volunteers, and available opportunities vary due to our needs.
At the Bookfairs
Usually, up to 100 volunteers are needed to ensure that each Bookfair runs smoothly.
Jobs include setting up tables, moving boxes of books and other sale items, tallying purchases, taking payments, staffing the cloakroom and clearing at the end of each Bookfair.
We have a volunteer break room with tea, coffee, cakes, slices and lunch provided.

At the Book Lovers Lane Bookshop
COVID-19 changed our ability to hold our Bookfairs throughout 2020 and 2021, and so Book Lovers Lane was born! Our second-hand bookshop is open from Thursday to Sunday with volunteering opportunities available for re-stocking throughout the week too.
Roles include serving customers, sorting donations, re-stocking shelves and a variety of tasks needed for shop upkeep. If you love books and enjoy the gentle atmosphere of a busy bookshop, this volunteering opportunity is for you!
